How To Apply For Your Free Library Card

Your Library Card is your passport to a wide range of Library programs and services.

Sign yourself up! Stop by the front desk at DFL to register for a card.
You must live in Delaware County and fill out a borrower’s application card. All adults must provide identification: an official document showing their current address. (Driver’s License, Current Utility Bill, Rent Receipt)

Children and Young Adults (under 18 years of age) may apply for their own library cards with a co-signature of a registered borrower.  The parent of legal guardian must show proof of address and sign the library card. The signer assumes responsibility for any library charges incurred by the child.

Borrowers’ Responsibilities
As a Darby Free Library borrower, you have the following responsibilities:
You are responsible for returning all borrowed materials on time.
You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card and any charges (including fines and replacement costs) resulting from the late return, damage or loss of materials. If you lose or destroy library property, you are responsible for the item’s replacement cost.

Let us know immediately if your card has been lost or stolen. There is a $3.00  fee for card replacement.

Please inform staff immediately if your address or phone number changes. (DFL requires up-to-date patron telephone information.)

Call DFL @ (610) 586-7310 if your card is lost or stolen or when your patron record needs to updated.
